Dinto Solar HJT Updates | August: C-HJT Patent Granted, Deliveries Advance for 100 MW Shandong Agrivoltaic Project

August brought further progress across Dinto Solar’s technology development and project delivery, with a new patent granted for C-HJT cell edge passivation, continued optimization of UV resistance and PVD target materials, and steady module deliveries for a 100 MW agrivoltaic project in China.

Dinto Solar Granted Patent for Edge Passivation Technology for C-HJT Cells

In August, Dinto Solar was granted an invention patent covering edge passivation technology for copper-metallized silicon heterojunction (C-HJT) cells. The technology uses a low-temperature process to optimize the exposed edges created during cell cutting. By protecting the copper electrodes while improving edge passivation, it helps reduce performance losses associated with cell cutting and supports further improvements in C-HJT cell efficiency.

Dinto Solar also filed four new patent applications during the month, covering key technology areas including copper electroplating for C-HJT cells and perovskite-HJT tandem technology. These applications reflect the company’s continued investment in core process development and next-generation high-efficiency cell technologies.

Dinto Solar Advances HJT Resistance to UV-Induced Degradation

To address ultraviolet-induced degradation (UVID), Dinto Solar continues to optimize the UV resistance of its HJT cells and modules through reliability design and testing across cell thin-film interfaces, encapsulation materials and module structures.

In the latest UV30 test, Dinto Solar’s HJT module recorded power degradation of just 1.04%, demonstrating strong resistance to UV-induced degradation. The R&D team is now proceeding with UV60 testing under a higher cumulative UV exposure level to further assess long-term performance. The results will provide additional data support for HJT deployment in demanding environments, including the hot and humid climates of the Middle East, Africa and Southeast Asia.

PVD Target Material Optimization Supports Cost and Efficiency Improvements

Dinto Solar continued to upgrade its PVD target material system to improve both the cost competitiveness and efficiency of HJT cells. During the month, the cell process team completed the trial introduction of a high-mobility target material on the front side and a low-indium material on the rear side, effectively reducing target material costs.

The optimized target material configuration was also successfully matched with metal screens for screen printing and fine-line metallization processes, contributing to an efficiency gain of at least 0.05 percentage points. Building on this progress, Dinto Solar is coordinating material optimization with metallization process development to create further scope for continued improvements in HJT cell efficiency and manufacturing costs.

Module Deliveries Advance for 100 MW Agrivoltaic Project in Shandong

Dinto Solar has delivered 84.11 MW of PV modules to date for a 100 MW agrivoltaic project in Quanyuan Town, Tancheng County, Linyi, Shandong Province, China. Project support is continuing, with the remaining deliveries progressing according to schedule.

Construction began in April 2026. Once completed and operational, the project is expected to save approximately 44,000 tonnes of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by around 120,000 tonnes annually. It is also projected to generate approximately US$350,000 (RMB 2.5 million) in annual tax revenue, supporting local clean energy development and green industry growth.

HJT Included in Module Tender for 500 MW Solar Project in Laos

On August 25, China Datang Overseas Investment Co., Ltd. launched a PV module procurement tender for the southern section of the 500 MW Nam Mo solar project in Laos. The tender specifies both HJT and TOPCon technology options, allowing bidders to select either 725 Wp HJT or 725 Wp TOPCon modules.

Under the project concession agreement, imported PV modules are exempt from customs duties and value-added tax, creating favorable conditions for HJT technology to participate in large-scale solar projects in Laos.

DYCM Advances More Than 1 GW of U.S. Module Manufacturing Capacity

Against a backdrop of rising electricity demand from AI infrastructure and continued expansion of the U.S. clean energy supply chain, HJT is emerging as one of the technology options for domestic high-efficiency module manufacturing.

According to PV Tech, U.S. module manufacturer DYCM has completed a new investment round to support its California manufacturing facility and the initial installation of more than 1 GW of annual module production capacity. Commercial shipments from the facility’s first HJT module line are expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026.

DYCM has secured more than 1.2 GW of module orders. The company is developing a traceable domestic supply chain designed to meet relevant foreign entity of concern requirements and support eligibility for U.S. domestic content incentives.
