100 MW Denglong Fishery-Solar Hybrid Project
The 100 MW fishery-solar hybrid project in Denglong Township, Ji’an, Jiangxi Province of West China, has been successfully grid-connected, utilizing Dinto Solar’s 132-format heterojunction (HJT) modules. The project marks a further step in deploying high-efficiency HJT technology across diverse application scenarios.
Previously a collection of dispersed aquaculture ponds, the site has been transformed into a dual-use energy and aquaculture system. PV arrays are installed above the water, enabling simultaneous power generation and fish farming—an effective “PV+” model that combines clean energy with efficient land and water use.
HJT Technology Enhances Performance in Water-Based Environments
Fishery-solar projects place higher demands on module reliability and environmental resilience than conventional ground-mounted systems. Under weak-light conditions—such as early morning, late afternoon, cloudy weather, or low winter sun angles—light reflected from the water surface becomes an important contributor to energy yield.
Dinto Solar’s HJT modules, with bifaciality of around 90%, are well-suited to capture this reflected irradiance, improving overall generation and project returns.
To ensure long-term durability in humid and high-moisture environments, the modules incorporate advanced sealing technologies, including:
- Polyisobutylene (PIB) butyl edge sealing
- Low water vapor transmission rate (WVTR), acid-resistant encapsulation films
- High-barrier silicone sealing materials
These measures provide robust protection against moisture ingress and environmental stress, supporting stable long-term operation.
In parallel, microcrystalline process optimization and 0BB (busbar-free) design help reduce balance-of-system (BOS) costs and levelized cost of electricity (LCOE), improving both performance and lifecycle economics.
A Scalable “PV+” Model for Clean Energy Transition
The project makes efficient use of local pond resources, enabling a “power above, aquaculture below” configuration that maximizes resource utilization and delivers both economic and environmental benefits.
Once fully operational, the project is expected to generate over 100 million kWh annually, contributing to a more diversified and lower-carbon energy mix in the Ji’an region. It also serves as a practical example supporting China’s dual-carbon objectives.
Integrated with Coal Power Flexibility Upgrades
The project is also part of a broader 100 MW coal power flexibility upgrade in Denglong Township, demonstrating how renewable energy can be integrated with existing thermal infrastructure.
The system includes:
- 100 MW of installed PV capacity
- A 110 kV substation
- A 12.5 MW / 25 MWh energy storage system across approximately 1,500 mu
Together, these assets form a “coal power + PV + storage” integrated model, enhancing grid flexibility and improving overall system efficiency.
Strengthening HJT Deployment at Scale
Supported by its comprehensive HJT product portfolio and a planned annual capacity of 15 GW for HJT cells and modules, Dinto Solar continues to expand its manufacturing scale and technology roadmap.
